Lockheed Martin delivered the final KC-130J Super Hercules aerial refuelers to delegates from France’s Armée de l’Air on February 4, at the firm’s Aeronautics center in Georgia.

France has received a total of four Super Hercules planes — two C-130J-30 war delivery airlifters and two KC-130J aerial refuelers.

The two C-130J-30 airlifters had been delivered in 2017 and 2018, and the first KC-130J delivered in September 2019. All of these Super Hercules are run in conjunction with France’s current C-130H fleet.

France is the 17th nation to opt for the C-130J for its airlift and refueling requirements. The C-130J Super Hercules is the most superior tactical airlifter in operation, proving superior efficiency and enhanced capabilities with the range and flexibility for each theater of operations and evolving necessities.

As the preeminent tactical aerial refueling tanker, the KC-130J is a battle-ready solution that takes full advantage of the tremendous technological and efficiency boost inherent in the C-130J Super Hercules plane.

With this delivery, France joins a world community of KC-130J fleet operators. Two years ago, Germany declared the purchase of a C-130J-30/KC-130J fleet, to be run in collaboration with France.

The C-130J Super Hercules is the international standard in tactical airlift, providing a novel combination of versatility and efficiency to complete any mission.

The Super Hercules worldwide fleet has over 2 million flight hours and is the airlifter of choice for 20 countries.
